Melissa and Rex are getting married at the beautiful Wallace Falls Lodge in Gold Bar, WA. And for the sake of scouting the location and just getting to go on a nice hike we decided to do a Wallace Falls engagement session as well!
We started the day bright and early, or rather dark and early. We met up at Melissa and Rex’s favorite coffee spot, Anthem Coffee in Puyallup for some much needed caffeine. On our way back to our cars the sun was rising and really lighting up the sky. I’m glad we we’re able to snag a few shots of that!
Once we got to Wallace Falls we went and scoped out their wedding venue. It’s a rustic but large lodge with lovely log construction and large windows. I’m really excited to see what they do with it for their wedding day. They have some fun ideas in mind for their ceremony and reception and I think their unique style will shine through.
The trail along the river up to the falls is gorgeous. It has all the trappings of a easy Northwest hike. Lush greenery, a flowing river and some great views. We had some fun getting down into the river and off the path to get a few shots on the large boulders below. I brought a red blanket I keep in my car as a prop for a few shots because it was chilly and I thought it would warm up Melissa and Rex a little and make a fun prop as well.
