Tacoma & Snoqualmie Pass Engagement Photographer | Lauren + Zack

Engagement Photos from Wright Park to Snoqualmie Pass

A Tacoma and Snoqualmie Pass engagement photographer session like this was exactly what I needed after completing my 2017 wedding season. It’s always a great opportunity to explore new locations while spending time with incredible people who also happened to trust me with both their wedding and engagement photos.

We started the session in Tacoma’s Wright Park, using the beautiful W.W. Seymour Conservatory as a backdrop, before heading up toward Snoqualmie Pass in the Cascade Mountains. Along the way, we stopped for snacks and drinks to fuel the 1.5-hour drive into the mountains, then set off into the alpine landscape.

Of all the natural beauty in the Pacific Northwest, Snoqualmie Pass stands out for its accessibility and its dramatic transition from city to wilderness. Within an hour, the landscape shifts from urban surroundings to rising foothills and snow-capped peaks. Our first stop was the popular Franklin Falls trail, which winds through dense forest alongside Denny Creek before opening up to the powerful falls. A constant mist hangs at the base, mixed with shifting winds that can either perfectly enhance movement or challenge every strand of hair.

After getting thoroughly soaked at the falls, we made our way back to the car and headed to Gold Creek Pond to catch the final light of the day and a stunning mountain sunset.
