A trip up to Snoqualmie for engagement photos is just what I needed after completing my 2017 wedding season. It’s a great chance to go explore a location and also hang out with awesome people who just so happen to have hired me to shoot their wedding as well as their engagement. We started our session in Tacoma in the stunning Wright Park in the Stadium District using the lovely Conservatory as a backdrop. We stopped to grab snacks and drinks for the 1.5hr drive up to the mountains and got rolling!
Of all the natural beauty in the Northwest, Snoqualmie is unique because of it’s ease of access and proximity to multiple metro areas. You only have to drive for about an hour before you start seeing the foothills begin to rise into snow capped peaks. Our first destination is the popular Franklin Falls trail the ambles through the woods following the course of Denny Creek until you eventually reach the roaring falls. A perma-mist is always present down at the base of the falls as well is wild whisps of wind that can either work wonders for hair or be disastrous. After getting properly soaked we walked back to the car and made the next stop at Gold Creek Pond to catch the last bits of light and a stunning sunset.
