Tacoma Narrows Portrait Session – Kaela

Capturing a bright smile and a colorful personality isn’t hard when the image matches both categories. Kaela is notoriously bright haired and it’s rare to find a frown on her freckled face. We started off our shoot near 6th in Tacoma, I like to have my subjects get warmed up to the photo process a little bit. It takes some of the pressure off and we can fall into a groove together, it didn’t take more than about 15 minutes for her to hit her stride and let loose with the laughs and moody looks. We made our way over to the iconic Tacoma Narrows Bridge just before the set dipped beneath trees, we were able to capture some seriously brilliant golden light. Having your picture taken is unnatural by definition, but if you embrace the moment and just get comfortable with the idea magic can happen.
