Volunteer Park Conservatory Wedding Photographer | Kelsey + Brad

Kelsey and Brad’s wedding at the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle was one of those days where the relationship naturally extended beyond just photographer and client.

When they first reached out about their small wedding in Capitol Hill, we set up a consultation at Cloudburst Brewing in Belltown to talk through their plans. From the start, it was clear they wanted a day that felt relaxed and intentional—focused on what mattered most while still bringing their families into the experience.

They began the day getting ready at Hotel Sorrento, one of Seattle’s most classic and atmospheric hotels. The dark wood interiors and historic character gave everything a timeless feel. I photographed both of them getting ready before we stepped into the courtyard for their first look.

From there, we made our way up to Volunteer Park Conservatory for the ceremony.

I’ve learned to expect a bit of everything when it comes to Seattle weather. The day started overcast, but by the time we arrived in Capitol Hill, the rain had fully set in.

Luckily, the conservatory made it easy to adapt. With multiple climate-controlled spaces, each room offered a different look and feel, giving us a variety of environments to work in without ever stepping back outside.

After the ceremony, the group gathered for dinner at Oddfellows Cafe, where the celebration continued in a relaxed and intimate setting. I stayed on to photograph the evening, including their cake cutting and time spent with family.

It was a day that felt easy in the best way—thoughtful, flexible, and centered around connection.
